I am looking to base some really nice O gauge custom trees but they do not have bases or stumps to insert them into for help in basing. I plan to base them on nice heavy washers and am looking for tree bases that have a trunk with roots that can be glued to the washer and I can just insert the wire end of the tree into that base and glue it in place. Any suggestions?

Thank you!

I've dealt with that very same issue recently. I use poker chips as the bases, and do two things. First, I bend the wire into an "L". Then I apply super glue to the poker chip. I cover the wire "L" with modelling clay and press into the super glue.

If you contact Skip at Legends In Time, he sells plastic tree bases. He sells the K&M trees and they have wire trunks. The bases come in 2 or 3 sizes. Glue the base to a washer if you like, then glue the tree in. Paint and flock.

I have probably done 200 trees this way.

I've used the K&M bases from Skip and drilled out the hole in the "stump" to insert the "trunks" of a wide variety of bushes and trees I got cheap from China. The bases were the 2 larger sizes. I believe there are 3 sizes. Skip was very helpful. We spoke on the phone and he went into considerable detail on basing them on washers as well as giving me information on the bases. The detail on the bases is very good.

Thanks! I will try the ones from Legends In Time!

Eureka Miniatures do some excellent tree bases, but they're designed for K&M trees. Mount them on large washers, got about a hundred and no regrets.
