Hi everyone. Does anyone have a link to some painting guides for the ECW. I'm building a small force for Pikeman's Lament.

See the very helpful guides to clothing and flags on the Baccus 6mm site:

The information is equally valid for larger figures.

Nice link Arthur1815

Here's some more info but it's not as good as Arthur1815's link when it comes to explanations:

I have several hundred ECW figures from Warlord Games to assembly and paint so I too am interested in any and all painting guides.

I got interested in the ECW because I started to read Michael Arnold's civil war novels; The Civil War Chronicles, very good story lines and lots of action. So when Pikeman's Lament came out I decided I good get away with painting a company or two and not have to field great armies.

Irish,

I have gotten back into ECW because of Pikemen's Lament also. Here is a pic of one of the units from my latest force. More pics on my blog.

Here are some very useful notes from the website of Prince Maurice's Dragoons, a re-enactment unit:-

princemauricesregiment.org.u … diers.html

princemauricesregiment.org.u … -1643.html

I also have some research (not mine, but collated from various sources not otherwise found in one place) on the King's Oxford army in 1643-44, and would be happy to put it up on here if required.

Quite nice one here link includes Covenanters and even a little on the Irish.

And as ever – all are welcome to browse and edit the BCW Regimental Wiki here wiki.bcw-project.org/start :-)

IrishMarine: I saw your mention of Michael Arnold on another thread. Unfortunately none of the libraries in my area have any of his books. I'd really prefer to read one before I buy the series.

I buy the used copies on amazon so far they've been great.
