Nice looking kit coming out, was hoping for more than vanila T64 tanks though.

Ohhhh….. shiny new things! Even new terrain, a nice simple apartment block. I like it.

Old Wolfman05 May 2017 6:42 a.m. PST

Looks great, will see about all that.

Yay, my GSFG is getting some reinforcements and more variety.

Looks great, and the pre-order pricing is attractive.

Is there any info on which variants of the T-64 can be produced with this set?

McWong7305 May 2017 3:42 p.m. PST

The terrain, especially the parking lot, is probably what I'll drop cash for first.

Doubt there's any other T64 variants you can build from the box, was hoping ERA would start making an appearance. The Khurasan T64 range has more appeal for me.

I am/was hoping for at least T-64, T-64A, and the T-64B.

capnvic05 May 2017 10:55 p.m. PST

It is the T-64B. There are no T-64BV's addon kits for the Kontakt ERA.

Lion in the Stars06 May 2017 3:18 a.m. PST

There probably shouldn't be any ERA on the tanks, Kontakt-5 was first deployed in 1985 on T80Us. T64s got Kontakt ERA later, as best I can tell… (Hell, looks like T64s didn't get Kontakt-5 until after 1999, but they had Kontakt-1 some time before then.)

Hmmm. Even with free postage, 5 metal BTR60 from QRF are only 25p more.

I'm looking forward to the plastic Motor Rifle infantry.

Breakthrough Assault has an article up with vehicle cards. Link here -

T-64B, BTR-60, SA-8 Gecko, 9P149 Shturm-S tank destroyer, and 2S3 Acacia.

The T-64 keeps RoF1, but also gets its missile (which outranges tank guns). The Gecko is a guided AA asset with a decent RoF and a very long range. The Shturm is better than the ITV in every category that matters except for the ITV's special rule. And the Acacia is basically an M109 that gets access to the Krasnopol (based on what's stated in the link, it appears to be laser-guided projectile that attacks top armor). I don't think the BTR needs any introduction.

According to Zaloga, the USSR introduced Kontakt-1 ERA T-64BV's in early 1985. The T-64BV were few and far between, however available.
