"A mess to clean up" Topic

Well organized mess, had a small game and one battalion was missing a 3 figure stand. So after I thought since I hadn't done a inventory in a long time and boxes were getting out of order I would pull out all my Russians and line them up in review. Well the stand didn't show up, so out came the Prussians on the other side of the board. Well 1/4 Russian stand was in with the Prussians 1/4 battalion, but sincd most were out I thought might as well pull out the British then the Bavarian and had to fix the lineup to fit them.
Now the mess begins, how to get them into the barracks ( boxes) in some sort of order I can find them, I have just under 5,000 to do.

That's half the fun, getting the units all back in order.

I label the outside of each box with what is inside it. My friend does as well as numbering each box and then recording the box number and its contents on a separate list.

I try to organize my Napoleonic forces by division and brigade.

Have the Prussians, British and Bavarians boxed but they were the easiest with the Prussians only needing minor rearranging though need to lable lots of drawers. I have them in numerical order. Also have 5 boxes for the Prussians, 1 for British and Bavarians but only 3 for Russians and they number around same as the Prussians. Going to need more boxes.

Have Prussians, British/Hanoverian and Bavarians boxed in numerical order but they were easy having space . The Russians are harder but am mostly putting them by brigades.
Also in this whole inventory found 2 stands ( Russians) miss numbered. Also is a good way to see what needs what done, ie flag bearer had to be replaced old flag bearer without flag gets pole removed and became a seperated Artillerist.

Need 1 more box for Russians, lots of artillery and quite a few Cavalry to find barracks for. But all others labled 5 Prussian, 1 British and Bavarians, 3 Russian
