Hello there!

Some time ago I picked up a copy of the Wings of Glory rules after playing a demo game at a convention and so far have had a blast with them. Only trouble is, it seems to be very difficult to source a good variety of the airplane packs to get the miniatures. Part of the appeal was the packaging of the pre-painted aircraft with the appropriate base and manoeuvre deck.

The game that introduced me to the rules was 'Bloody April' themed, and I found the challenge of playing the inferior RFC planes against the German Albatross quite enthralling and would love to play more games in this period. What I'm really wanting to get my hands on are some of the DH.2 pusher types but unfortunately that seems to be the hardest to get!

I feel like I've searched all the corners of the internet and my local stores, with no luck. Its the same story everywhere… Out of stock with no indication of when they'll be available. If anyone knows of any vendors (either based in the U.K. or international, at this point I'd give my left arm in P&P!) carrying stock of any of the three varieties of DH.2 aircraft packs I'd be eternally grateful! There seems to be no news or information on when a lot of the planes will be restocked anywhere, which is a shame because it's a great little game!

Thanks,

Fletch

I think they are nearly as hard to get hold of as the SE5. Did see a DH2 on Ebay UK a few months ago, but it was bid up to well over what I was prepared to pay.

I have the DH.2(HAWKER) mint in box. Give me a shout and we can work something out. Will send you picture to make sure it's what you want. Have some other planes and bombers too.

Put TMP, wings of glory in the subject line

They are hard to get and will set you back about £30.00 GBP-40 through ebay etc. Ares is doing re-releases of the nexus planes but it takes time. The next lot is series 3 in june/july and that will be nieuport 17, DIII, Ufag and the harry tate. It's a shame they didn't get the planes out in time for bloody april. You could just get shapeways ones and use the 'mates' movement cards on the forum.

Good luck on your hunt.

It's an endless issue for those interested in the period. SE5A are hitting £80.00 GBP on eBay now.

I don't understand why ARES doesn't get the most needed models into production so those new to the game stand a chance of getting some desirable models. The situation is now that as soon as something decent get released they sell pretty quickly. For example with the reprint of Series three lots of us have been waiting years to get more Nieuport 17s and Albatross DIII. When they are available I expect they may sell out quite quickly.

There are those of us into repainting who buy relatively large numbers as soon as we can get them. For example, I'm aiming to get 16 DIIIs and four Nieuports. That will pretty much be the bulk of my hobby spend for the year I expect and give me repainting stock for the next 18 months while I wait for the next lot to come out.

You speak the truth. I snagged many of the recent releases likely the day after they arrived in the hobby shop. And I'm snatching up leftovers of earlier releases to bulk out the collection, precisely so I can repaint them.

I find myself needing a Halberstadt, but the prices on those are getting stupid. I'll likely just order a few from Shapeways.

I think the real reason they go fast is the maneuver decks. The reluctance Ares shows with controlling access to the maneuver decks is the real limiting factor. For an old school gamer, this linking of the models to the game aids is frustrating.
