Here is my Scout Kill Team for SW:A. It dove tails nicely with my bigger Prospero project as these guys will also be a Recon Squad for my 30K Rout forces. I'm in desperate need of Troop choices for that force anyway as right now it is mostly elites.

The boxed set comes with a set of Scout snipers too. I'll be making them up as a Thousand Sons Amitara Occult Intercession Cabal. I will probably also use them for SW:A games set on Prospero. I've been thinking about a board that replicates the inter-city gate system where the main antagonists will be the Rout force pictured here and the Cabal but also give the Rout some Veteran space marines to balance out the advantage the T-Sons will have with the gates.

Here are all the pictures:

Nice. You liking SW:A?

You definitely need more scouts for Shadow War! You'll find yourself outnumbered. I'd recommend two specialists at least, as well. Plasma gun and heavy bolter are a slick combination.

That right there is 1000 pts just about, if I give them all camo gear. You don't get a ton of marines for 1000 pts.

Oh I know :) I would recommend buying more bodies now.

Remember, you only get 100 points to recruit OR rearm.
You have to burn a promethium cache to get +100 points.

So recruiting a Scout later on will use up valuable resources.

To answer your question Dantatus, I haven't actually played it yet. I worked this weekend past, two 24-hours shifts, so haven't really had much chance since I picked it up last week. These guys weren't even assembled yesterday morning.

Picked up a Battle for Vedros set after two of my grandsons saw me playing Battle for Armageddon on my PC. Now I'm introducing them to tabletop gaming and the hubbub over SW:A piqued my interest. Might be worth it for the reading and pictures alone.

Sounds like an excellent investment then!

Battle for Verdos? Name reminds me of Vengeance on Varos. Then again Necromunda is like Paradise Towers.

Necro and Gorkamorka were meant to be parts of an ongoing series. I has taken its time.

From what I can tell, "Battle for Vedros" is GW's ultra simple 40K starter aimed at younger market. It uses some snap-together SMs and Orks from other, larger, two-player sets.

Finished the SMs. Working on the Orks now. Got some paper terrain and a hex mat to speed things up. My grandsons will be rolling D6's soon.
