OK, I'm currently laid up and with no work to do the brain is fevering with ideas. Has anyone ever tried adding a Pulp element to AK-47 ? AK is a great game system, and is a 1 model/1 man so it would be relatively simple to add a paragraph or two to account for the good Doctor and his assistants. I already have some ideas bubbling away but would love to hear what – if anything – other folk have tried. TIA |

Most, if not ALL of Africa seems to me to be rather "pulpy" already. My latest example is the new South African president getting booed out of the stadium by "his people". That could certainly make for a number of interesting story-lines, all by itself. Of course, the Dr. can show up anywhere, so…….. Wonder which side he'll take? |

Adding Dr. Who to AK-47? You're odd. I like that. :) Rules, no idea on specifics – random weirdness, rerolls, strange event tables, interesting effects on nearby troops or commanders (the Dr. is always trying to talk his way into or out of things)… But you'll need the police box, and the Dr. and companion(s) would make a great 'hero' stand, with many possible variants. Does anyone make the call box and characters in 15mm? |

I've no idea how to program his arrival, or what points they would cost but random ideas so far suggest treating the Sonic Screwdriver as a +2 weapon with a very short range (6"?) that can move and fire. The catch being that it has no effect on biological targets, but if successful disables technology for the rest of the game. (1 vehicle/heavy weapon or 1D6 bases of robots cease to function, or 1D6 groups of foot become unarmed.) His companions make a single unarmed foot base, but with the same +2 in close combat with vehicles or robots. If successful, same effect as the Doctor (inventive vandals). When shot at both the Doctor and Companions count as an armoured target and can gain any benefits from cover (sneaky devils). If the Doctor or his Companions are killed or contacted by enemy foot they surrender immediately and are removed from the table. In their next movement phase they reappear, either adjacent to the enemy Commander or the most important objective. I have a Tardis but it needs more thought. |

Rebel Minis call box: link Rebel Minis 'civilian zombie hunters': link Other suggestions: CP Miniatures have some 'alien scientists' which can pass as Ood: link (painted: link) They also have some 'big-eyed aliens' in 28mm, the younglings of which are probably about right for 15mm: link Khurasan has some civilian scientists, one of which can look pretty Doctor-ish: link (seen with GZG old-sculpt Kra'vak in a Sontaran-ish paint scheme). |
