Message for John, not sure if you remember me of my rules that I wrote a few years back, but my hard drive was busted when I checked after several years of inactivity. I was wondering if you still had copies of my rules that I emailed you…? Sorry for any one else reading this… If you do have it by some miracle, can you email me on Madan.mitraATyahoo.co.uk thanks If not, I'll write then again, I have the core rules still. Thanks Madan |

Hi, Sure I remember you. Loved the rules. I probably do have copies at least in Yahoo mail. I have suffered two catastrophic HD crashes but they'd be on Yahoo, I think. I'll check it out. Thanks. |

Hi guys Jack here.. Not sure if your talking about the B5 Wars scale or the Fleet Action. However, I would be interested in knowing more about your version of the rules if you dont mind? As for the B5 Wars, great mini's but IMHO too large and omg the Co$t. I did play a cpl games, not for me.. we moved, plotted etc for almost 2 hrs..and only 'fired' as many times. Great to 'push lead' as the owner of our FLG store put it, but seemed to never get around to 'throwing dice'. Fleet Action: the mini's, perhaps some of "the" best I have ever seen for any SciFi game. Will NEVER part w/ my EA, Minbari and may even expand my few Brakiri if 'lifes' priorities let me get to it. |

Hi, Madan created these rules many years ago. I was just an ardent fan of them. They had an extremely cool sequence of play unlike any other space combat game I have ever played. I also am a HUGE fan of the Bab5 Fleet action ships. I have every major race and many of the smaller races. I like the Brakiri ships. I got crushed once playing the Drazi. Cool ships but the Brakiri are tougher. Thanks. |

Greeting Folks, I've been off line for a bit and saw this pop up at the top so thought that I might comment on whats the state of play. (kinda goofed when I put this in the Spaceship Gallery, sorry). The Fast Play Fleets system was written in response to the fact that all the other systems (at that time) where kinda slow, complex and simply did not handle the 10 to 20 ships easily. FPF does that but since a decade ago I am sure that I could speed it up some more but some of the Flavour would go. The Star Trek version (see belwo) will give a flavour of how it works though B5 has been rewritten to suit that universe's tech…no Shields so ships rely in Evade, Stealth, Absorbtion or Armour…has Fighters, Breaching Pods and so on. Fast Play Fleets currently exists in 3 flavours…. 1) FPF: Star Trek, published in a UK Magazine called VALKYRIE the issue is lost in my wargames room but the rules can be found on link I had intended to add more ships but moved onto B5. (my friend has revamped it and I might put that up too). 2) FPF: Babylon 5, died when my PC went bang but thanks to John Leahy I managed to get them back. I will upload to Free wargames same as Start Trek some time soon and will put a link here. Theres a lot more in B5 I don't think that missed any race out. It is a ship slicingly fun game. 3) FPF: Star Empires, a Space Evolution & Exploration systems built in 10 year turns till war break out then its a standard campaign system BUT the fleets are built on the technologies advances that you invested so all the fleets are different, well…within the game framework…of course. Watch This Space…(wink) Laters Madan |

I'll be watching! If I recall correctly, the only reason I stopped playing is there was not a DIY system for points when creating ships not yet created. I really thought these rules were a ton of fun and slam bang awesome in play. Firing when ships come near you. Not like any other set of rules I have ever played. Really good stuff! The fact that they were saved after I suffered 3 catastrophic hard drive crashes says something about how much I liked these rules.
Thanks, John |

Yes, that works ok. Thanks for the new link. Goodness, Valkyre magazine, that takes me back! Still have all my copies somewhere too. If your friend has more ships developed, you should post those please. :) |

I just printed off the Bab5 FPF stuff. Wow. I forgot how many ships had been rated up. There is also a point calculation process sheet. Gotta pull my ships out and give them a whirl again. I'm pretty excited by this! |
