A fantastic game was had at my gaming emporium this past friday that pitted Babylon 5 ships versus Battlestar Galactica ships. I have written up an AAR as usual if you want to take a look. link |

Clever idea but as I recall 1 Sharlin should have been able to handle all the BSG ships. |

That depends on your assumptions, the BSG ships are far more massive than the Sharlin, more metal does make a difference. Granted when the Sharlins hit the battlestar the effect was noticed and naturally the battlestar could rarely if ever hit the Minbari. The problem for the Minbari is that their armour provides little protection from kinetic weapons. |

Have played a number of crossover games. Using the characteristics of the ships in their own universe generally does not work well. For the matchup listed here you need to either upgrade the BSG universe or downgrade the B% stuff. |

It is indeed difficult but it is the dragon I like to chase. |

It helps if you don't believe in outrageous sizes for B5 ships. Great looking battle Mike. |

By gut feel (not knowing the game system you used) the Colonials were heavily outnumbered/gunned there, probably by a factor of 5+ to 1! A single Sharlin or Warlock should be a rough match for a Battlestar. |

Allen57 Have played a number of crossover games. Using the characteristics of the ships in their own universe generally does not work well. While Ive 'never' done that. I tend to agree. It 'just doesn't work for me". But most importantly: As long as "everyone enjoyed it" then go for it! The Minbari relied far more on advanced tech than physical construction. I.e. IIRC to hit any Minbari, 1st: roll 'lock on. And they had the ability to appear at a longer than actual range (causing greater range penalty for attacker). I actually liked that rule. It emphasized they were an advanced race. As for the BSG world, far more 'human'. If you want tougher ships, add more armor and guns. Ive played a few B5 Fleet Action games, (worked out my own rules) love the mini's. Sadly to this day, Ive not found any interest for BSG miniatures games. (the TOS Galactica will always be 'my' Galactica) |
