Hi all, I have some contradictory sources here. The Osprey says the plume was white over a black and orange base. But every picture I have seen of em (both plates and other enthusiasts models) seem to have them plain white. Can anyone clarify at all? Many thanks and good gaming. |

I have great references for the Guard Cossacks, but for the Don, I have nothing that would contradict the Osprey. If you scroll down in the link to see Parxhaev's version of the Don officer, you'll see that the orange + black at the bottom of the plume is very small, and would be barely visible on a 28mm fig. link |

Thanks guys. For the Don Cossacks I'm starting to suspect it might be all white plume for the rank and file, with orange over black at bottom for the officers. Might be a good compromise in any event :) |

NCOs and Officers would have plumes, as described in the Osprey, and as Parxhaev illustrates. Troopers--no plume, as is shown in the link. |

Shame all the figures have plumes. But they're Front Rank and damn nice, so I can forgive them that :) |
