The freighter was carrying sheep, and suffered minor damage to the bow. So I guess we can say the Russian ship was "rammed"? But seriously, it's packed with signals intelligence equipment. How deep was the water?

The Russians ship's bow may have gotten "sheared" off when they were too enthusiastically "herding" the freighter.

@Skipper John: Yep, they're called Intelligence Trawlers. Good way to spot one is when a Fishing Boat has more antennas than your warship!
