until the 250th anniversary, there is hope I'll have my collection fully painted by then. But let's not get carried away and make any promises!

but… but… if you paint all your miniatures, YOU'LL DIE!!!!

Fully painted?
I still have 45 unpainted British regiments and 8 Hessians to go. And a few "other" Germans.
I'm ashamed to admit that my Yankees are entirely generic, so I guess they're as complete as I want them to be. Until a brand new delicious range of militia come out.
Loyalists are generic too.

But I can always go whole hog on French at Savannah or Spanish too. I don't have any Creeks, as opposed to my generic Iroquois.

At my current painting rates I am not sure I will meet my modest AWI goals by the 250th anniversary of Yorktown.

Does this thread have a TMP bug?
250th anniversary of what event? The start of the AmRev?

Yep, 'twas the 18th of April in '75 (1775 + 250 = 2025 – 8 = 2017).

Oh, that's good. I have some time left to paint a few units for a game. Now I just have to find the box I put them in and where I stored the box those many years ago.

So if I start a new period now, at my current rate of painting ….

closer to the 300th anniversary. I will only be 113, talk about the graying of the hobby. wink

Leave the last miniature unpainted.

I will stay alive like Mr. Burns, with my head in a jar. My robot slaves will paint and move my miniatures, set up terrain, etc.

but… but… if you paint all your miniatures, YOU'LL DIE!!!!

Not if you just buy more of them. ;-)

At my current painting rate I don't think I'll be ready in eight years' time. I started painting my AWI forces last year, got as far as doing one battalion from each side and then got sidetracked into something else.

Can we get the anniversary pushed back a bit further for those of us who paint really, really slowly?

Early morning writer28 Apr 2017 6:01 p.m. PST

ODGW, I only meant my AWI collection. Might take a week or two longer for the rest. How many years in a week again?

Even if you think you have finished a planned project you will need to re-base in 18 months and then start it again in another scale. Not to mention selling it, regret selling it then buy them all again.

'Finish' is not a verb in the wargamers dictionary.

Since I posted I have managed to complete 8 additional figures. At this rate being done by the 250th of Yorktown is seeming less likely.
