I have walls, but not in huge numbers.

Mostly traditional dry stone style field edging walls, and a small amount – perhaps 3 feet long in total – of low brick walls suitable for 19th century onwards garden walls – they double up as more substantial walls for 15mm and below figures.

These came pre-painted so are a pretty decent standard.

I also made some rough and ready mixed materials walls for SF skirmish gaming. I was quite pleased with them.

I also have a fair bit of Palisade walls – but maybe that's more like a really tall fence rather than a true wall.

So, do you have walls in huge numbers, or just a limited amount?

1. I have no walls
2. I have a huge amount of beautiful walls
3. I have some beautiful walls
4. I have just a few beautiful walls
5. I have a huge amount of average standard walls
6. I have some average standard walls
7. I have just a few average standard walls
8. I have a huge amount of basic walls
9. I have some basic walls
10. I have just a few basic walls

vtsaogames26 Apr 2017 8:42 a.m. PST

A good number of plastic "stone" walls.
A bunch of less wonderful Sculpey works I made.
5 or 6 feet of resin earthworks from Musket Miniatures.
a couple feet of decent scratch-built rifle pits.
15mm Vauban fortress.
20mm Zvezda wooden fort used for French & Indian wars.
Lots of fences from Musket Miniatures and some scratch-built too.

8. My walls are all PaperTerrain card ones. I probably have about 20 feet of Mediterranean (Peninsular walls), 10 feet of Northern European walls and 6 feet of dry stone walling, the latter two for my Jacobite Rebellion set up.

You can see some of them on my website at:

link

That particular page starts with buildings, so scroll down for walls.

I have a 15mm PaperTerrain Vauban fortress, which I have constructed in a modular way. I have both full size and half size curtain walls, so that I can make large or small fortresses, or even elongated ones (like Ciudad Rodrigo). The full size one can be seen here:

The smaller one, and my fortress glacis, can be seen here:

I play Frostgrave… I have almost the same surface area of walls as I do table o.0

Weasel26 Apr 2017 11:25 a.m. PST

Mine look pretty garbage but we have quite a few of them.

In 15mm, they carve the table into distinct areas which makes for interesting scenarios and in 28mm, they provide cover.

Oh – hedges !

I do not have enough hedges.

I've got enough hills to cover the table.

I've got a small town's worth of buildings.

I have enough trees.

But hedges – nope, not enough.

3 and 8.

Many basic pale dun-colored stone or adobe walls for the US Southwest or Middle East, plus some ornate painted walls for Egypt. And LOTS of grey stone walls (finished and rough) for northern Europe, esp. the British isles.

Hafen von Schlockenberg26 Apr 2017 1:13 p.m. PST

Some of the Armorcast stone walls. Lots of Acheson wall bits.

Beautiful? Who's to say? But I like 'em.

14Bore26 Apr 2017 1:27 p.m. PST

I made a couple using wood strips and sprayed them with the stone paint spray, works well for smaller scales ( I have 15mm)

I have more types, sizes, and colors of various walls than I can count.

COL Scott ret26 Apr 2017 10:26 p.m. PST

10 or 9 depending on your definition of "some".

I feel so humbled. However I have grand plans for home made walls, fences and hedges. Does the planning count?

Personal logo 20thmaine Supporting Member of TMP27 Apr 2017 6:18 a.m. PST

I've always counted planning as part of the wargaming process. It's how I get three or four hours of gaming in every day…. evil grin

Personal logo etotheipi Sponsoring Member of TMP28 Apr 2017 1:47 p.m. PST

Tons of walls in different types, styles, and degrees of detail.

Not sure what "beautiful" means. I have a lot of cartoony walls that are great to go with cartoony, retro sci-fi … are those beautiful? Low detail, but they fit well with the genre.
