Well, it took longer than expected, but I finally have photos of my French fleet up at my blog. Please take a look at:

As always, comments are appreciated. And yes, I did notice that some of my older ships are starting to look a bit tatty where rigging is concerned.

A great looking fleet Brian, well done!

Thanks guys! I'm finding that taking photos (well, good ones anyway) take up a bigger chunk of time than I had expected. Right now I'm deciding whether to show off the British next, or some of the smaller fleets (US, Russian and Dutch). After those and the British will be the unrated ships, merchantmen and some of the accessories.

Love them Brian! My vote is for your American fleet next. That's what I'm working on now so I want to see yours of course.

Vol

Vol,
Yeah, I can do that. It will certainly be a damn sight fewer photos than my British fleet, that's for sure! So, the next post will be the US, Dutch and Russian fleets

Good fleet Brian! I'm curious to see the Dutch fleet

BrianW26 Apr 2017 1:07 p.m. PST

Julian,
Thanks! I'm afraid "fleet" is a little ambitious for the Dutch ships. Right now, there are only two of them. I'm thinking that after I get set up for Trafalgar, I might go back and do something like Camperdown.

OK, I was just curious to see the colors of the Dutch fleet at that time.

I haven't really done a lot of research on the Dutch fleet yet. I painted those two based on the suggestions on the Langton website. I can't link directly to it, but if you go to the website, click on the 1/1200 ships link, then click on Dutch, there is a line that says: "For a useful painting guide – click Dutch Vessels at Kamperduin."

When it comes time to build that fleet, I will do some more in-depth research.

I read somewhere that the Dutch liked orange so that is what I went with for the stripes.

ok, thank you for the info Brian and Vol.
