I have a significant collection of comics, mostly from the '80s, that I need to sell make space. Where's the best place for this? I'd like to make some money, but I also don't want to take forever. I do understand that there's a glut of comics from that decade.

I suppose this really belongs under "superhero," but I wasn't sure because this is Media … Apologies to all if this isn't the right place either.

What do you have? I was acutally looking for some 70s ad earlier pulp SF, Analog, Asimov, Galaxy, etc.

HI

Be careful. Don't let someone cherry pick the collection. There are some fairly valuable book in that era. New Mutants #98 1st Deadpool is worth $$$$$.

Try Craiglist and if that doesn't work sell it to a local store if he'll buy all of it and not just the key issues.

If you have to sell the key issues only then donate the rest to a local charity.

Nnascati, I have some of those issues from that era (subscription and acquired from a friend).

Let me see if I can dig them up.

Any specifics?

No, I play Retro Raygun, and thought they might be good inspiration.

I placed them on ebay, usually in lots of 10 or by storyline. I have had OK success.

I used this site to pick out the "good" ones to sell separately.

comicbookrealm.com

What is left I will take to my Local comics store and let him cherry pick and then give away the rest.

You might look at MyComics.com; they're a large seller: online, mail order, auction -- they buy and auction comics as well as sell them. Their commissions might not be any worse than ebay's, and they may buy whole collections.

mycomicshop.com

I intend to give them a try soon myself -- I've bought from them reliably for years but now it's time to cull the collection. I've got stuff going back decades, some valuable, some not.
