Love the elephant shield under the cloak. That's a very tricky thing to paint. |

I painted the two figures on foot c10 years ago (the mounted versions remain part of my mountain!) and afterwards noted the similarity to the cover of Osprey's Men At Arms Armies of the Carthaginian Wars 265-146. However the half-hidden shield remains white – I never plucked up the courage to do what you've done. Now I'm going to have a go! |

Wow, I hadn't noticed that. And I own that book! You are right they are posed and equipped just like the cover of that book.
