Sticks my with my recent desire to get back into BT. Which was my first Miniature game.

What's your favorite mech?

Mine would be the Awecome.. not a perfect mech, but I was always fond of it.

Stryderg18 Apr 2017 11:19 a.m. PST

The Marauder (3025, unseen). The two PPC could put some hurt down range and managing the heat build up added to the challenge. I got out before the Clans invaded.

Moe the Great18 Apr 2017 11:24 a.m. PST

I played some of the clan stuff but a little too much.

I liked designing my own, favorite was a light make with 3 lasers so it did not overheat while firing every weapon every turn. Another was an all MG mech.

Warhammer was a favorite.

15mm and 28mm Fanatik18 Apr 2017 11:41 a.m. PST

Rifleman. Mad Cat a close second.

wakenney18 Apr 2017 11:52 a.m. PST

Looks-wise, the Warhammer. Playing, Annihilator.

Though I would take a hovertank with SRMs and room to run over any mech any day.

Garand18 Apr 2017 12:11 p.m. PST

Hmm…

For lights I'm partial to the Jenner, lots of firepower in a small package makes it very dangerous to other lights. Also loved the Spider as no one could touch me, haha!

For mediums I as never a huge fan of the 40T class, but loved mechs like the Hunchback, Enforcer, Centurion, even the Blackjack. The Dervish was never a favorite but it was a real zombie mech!

For heavys can't complain much about the venerable Thud, lots of firepower, lots of armor for its weight. The MAD was too much of a heat hog, but the -M variant with 2 LL in place of the PPCs as well as extra sinks was very dangerous!

For assaults loved the Awesome! But also loved the Stalker as well, lots n lots of firepower on that chassis. I loved the looks of the Zeus, even if the mech itself was a little lackluser (LRM-20 is very respectable, but only backed up by an AC-5, LL & Mlas doesn't impress…), though works well as a LR teammate to a more close combat oriented mech.

Damon.

All the unseen in the following order:

Marauder, Warhammer, Shadow Hawk, Griffin, Wasp, Stinger, Battlemaster, Rifleman, Locust etc

Tgunner18 Apr 2017 12:27 p.m. PST

I'm a Warhammer jock and have always been. I love the dual PPC combination with the heavy secondary battery with lasers and SRM crit seekers. My other favorites show off my House Davion preferences: Valkyrie (the most annoying mech ever made and I have six!) the Enforcer (the 'hammer's little brother), and the Grasshopper (the jump-capable Battlemaster). I like the Rifleman and the Jaeger Mech too. I've always been a PPC/Autocannon/large laser fan.

I never got to play with the Thud, but I have to say that I'm impressed with the design. I actually own two of them now. I've never been overly impressed with assault mechs, but the Victor and its kissing cousin, the Highlander, are pretty nasty boogers!

I once encountered an all MG armed mech while I was conning a Pixie. I wasn't impressed.

Stryderg18 Apr 2017 12:32 p.m. PST

Speaking of designing your own…I made what I called a Catapult before I found out there was an official one. Same tonnage as the official one, but armed with 5 LRM-20's. Talk about bringing the rain! Never actually played it, though. Designing was almost as much fun as playing anyway.

Moonbeast18 Apr 2017 12:42 p.m. PST

Battlemaster. Liked the Thunderbolt as well.

Wackmole918 Apr 2017 1:11 p.m. PST

Crusader & Phoenix Hawk. I loved jump capable mechs. I plan to get into Alpha Strike this year.

TheWhiteDog18 Apr 2017 1:33 p.m. PST

Original Rifleman and Original Warhammer…Then maybe the Victor or Daishi, as I always loved Assault mechs

Honorable mention goes to the Patton/Rommel tanks.

jfleisher18 Apr 2017 2:04 p.m. PST

Awesome. 80 tons, 3xPPC.

Balthazar Marduk18 Apr 2017 3:40 p.m. PST

Hatchetman all the way… Full Lance of those bad boys will get you through anything.

Striker18 Apr 2017 3:54 p.m. PST

Rifleman

WLBartlett18 Apr 2017 3:58 p.m. PST

I always liked the Atlas and the Zeus. BT was my first miniature game and I've been looking at getting back into, but there are so many different versions now. I can't figure out what is what…

Bill

Mick the Metalsmith18 Apr 2017 3:58 p.m. PST

None of them. Possibly as implausible as chainmail bikinis, hi heels, and oversized swords.

Moe the Great18 Apr 2017 4:28 p.m. PST

Ha!

sharkbait18 Apr 2017 6:23 p.m. PST

Grasshopper & Awesome. Plus a custom Locust with 3 Med Lasers – don't let it get behind you,!

ordinarybass18 Apr 2017 6:50 p.m. PST

Maurader (Glaug Officer Pod). Rifleman and Warhammer (Destroids) are close runners up.

No desire to get back into the Battletech game(though I love the universe), but I've got big models of all 3 of those mechs in my 28mm Mech Attack games.

Wretched Peasant Scum18 Apr 2017 7:48 p.m. PST

Vulture-probably because of the Mechwarrior computer game I used to play. 360 degree torso rotation so you could run away at full speed while the torso faced backwards.

Hazza31B18 Apr 2017 8:37 p.m. PST

Enforcer, cataphact, timber wolf, zeus.

Forager18 Apr 2017 9:16 p.m. PST

Marauder (the original…not that one pictured above) all the way, baby!

Looking to get another one, so if any of you have one you don't want, please let me know. Thanks!

Hades Wolf went to the trouble of typing mine out for me, thanks Glen but ive swapped the first two!

Warhammer, Marauder, Shadow Hawk, Griffin, Wasp, Stinger, Battlemaster, Rifleman, Locust etc

Good choices ;)

Jimmy da Purple19 Apr 2017 6:03 a.m. PST

My first was a hunchback. You had to get in close, but then you had a wallop.

Chalfant19 Apr 2017 7:23 a.m. PST

Stalker, Thug, Warhammer, Maruader… for lights, gotta be Locust.

Chalfant

Stealth100019 Apr 2017 9:35 a.m. PST

Battlemaster and rifleman. For the little one Wasp and Locust.

RebelPaul19 Apr 2017 12:50 p.m. PST

Awesomne.

wminsing19 Apr 2017 3:47 p.m. PST

Favorite overall is the Battlemaster; I like the looks and I like to drive it. A strong second place is the Enforcer.

kendar20 Apr 2017 1:43 a.m. PST

3025 Rifleman – my 1st mech and loved it ever since – can dish out damage as long as you are not afraid of the heat.

Classic stuff they ripped off from Japanese anime.

But #1 goes to Locust.

Templar C. 85 tons of Davion power.

Hazza31B05 May 2017 1:42 p.m. PST

Davion is love, Davion is life!

Covert Walrus05 May 2017 3:07 p.m. PST

Locust for me- fast and fairly hard-hitting.
