(Russians vs British /Prussians) I have a British/Hanoverian Inf division and a small Prussian Division with 1 regular and 2 small cavalry regts. They are to travel and exit off the board. To head them off a Cossack division (7 regts) with 1 1/2 Cossack batteries. Behind them are 2 Russian Divisions the 4th and 3rd and maybe 3 small dragoon regts (makeup is option) The allies are short cavalry but need to break through the Cossacks. Have a town in center but don't think that is a good idea as don't want them moving in for a siege. Maybe fairly open country is best except light woods. British are 4 Highlanders, 95th rifles and Walmoden's Hanoverians, Prussians are Lutzow's, Prussian Guard Shutzen, 1 Pomeranian Ldwr battalion and composite uhlan and small Hussar. Russian 3rd doesn't have their jagers but instead 4 militia and a foot Cossack battalion. |

One doesn't break through Cossacks with infantry. You drive them off at best only to see them for up again. Strikes me as similar to Fuentes de Oro where the infantry will be moving in square a lot. I like the unconventional matchup but I think it might be a tad more plausible if the Prussiians were on the Russian side (1816 scuffle?) |

I only have allies, by the thousands, my British just changed sides as my Russians are outnumbering the Prussians ( except in Infantry). The Bavarians are still on the Russian side. This is a bit of response to someones question of troops finished and never in combat. |

Has me thinking of switching the Russian forces, break through Infantry with Cossacks coming up behind. |

What abilities do your Cossacks have? Can they charge formed infantry? |

If they can charge any kind of formed infantry, they are the best Cossacks in the world I agree that the Cossacks would most likely evade, escape and then be right back on your flanks or rear |

Cossacks are only good as flankers, I have had them stop infantry as they form squares but thats as much as I ever got them to do. 1 regiment ( #1 in my order have been given 1 pt in Empire rating) for beating a Ldw cavalry regiment. Point of this is these are the forces in play so need a scenario for this and why these two groups would need to fight it out. |

The why could be ascertained from the Congress of Vienna and further negotiations amongst the victorious powers after the hundred days. We are speaking about a lot of the issues that lead up to the Crimean War just resolved a bit earlier in this little fictional battle. As such any tactical situation you want to play out can be justified. Call it the defense of Hannover or something. |

I could be fighting a 1816 battle |
