Haven't seen much info posted about this of late, and haven't followed very closely, but it appears there's little to no info on 15mm HALO here, or on other sites I've checked. So, is 15mm HALO out? I seem to recall seeing some nice, but pricey dropship model pre-alerts a while back. Haven't seen any troops in ages though, and there were none in Walmart the other night. I did see a bunch of larger, Lego-like, HALO troops, with about 16 or so figs in a box, but it was like $36 USD, which I thought to be rather expensive. With "quantitative easing" (printing money by the government), a dollar sure doesn't go as far as it used to. So, does anyone produce HALO humans and aliens in 15mm scale, for a reasonable price? I suspect proxies from GZG and others are probably much more affordable, but thought I'd inquire anyway. |

It's out, but the kind of thing you can get a walmart. You'll have to go to a hobby shop or online. Minis look good as far as I can tell, though the more I learn of the game, I'm personally less interested. YMMV But yes the toys are out and are nice. |

I don't really care about the rules, but am interested in the alien minis. |

I've been waiting for a decent sale to pick up some of the UNSC minis. I hope they expand the ODST options a bit, as that's what I'm really after. |

I want to pick this up, probably will sometime. But I think it will be a game I solo play in my basement because it's not WH40K or Warmahordes (or a CCG for that matter!)… Damon. |

The miniatures are really, really, nice, and are near perfect renditions of what you see in Halo: Reach, but frankly I've found them a real pain to prep – they are realistically proportioned so joints are weak points and they are overly well attached to the sprue. So far I've built one Warthog and that wasn't too bad. The down side for those who just want the mini's is that poses are limited and you get an odd mix because the game is designed for bases typically of three figures. Not so bad for the Covenant, but UNSC marines for example have one guy with an assault rifle, one with a battle rifle and one with a grenade launcher. I bought two starters on black Friday sale and did pretty well – yes they are expensive, but then Spartan are servicing a pretty major license. Members of my local club who play Spartans other games have showed some surprise that the figures are less than perfect. |

A guy in my gaming group got some. I'll see if I can't get some pictures with some comparisons from other companies for size. I haven't actually seen them yet, myself. |

Are the minis pre-based? Or do you glue them to the bases? (I'm not wanting to put them 3 to a rectangular base, see…) |

Never mind, I see them on FeeBay. Wow, they're metal… I was hoping they'd be like White Dragon minis. Those are super-precise, sharp sculpts in resin. I'll get some. What the heck. |

I have picked up most of what is available so far. I am enjoying painting the Covenant forces and have painted a Warthog and a couple of Ghosts. Nice models with a good amount of detail. The rules look to be very playable but I think designed for tournament play. All in all the production quality is very high. I especially like the buildings that you get in the starter set – very clever! If you are a 15mm Sci-Fi fan then I would recommend Halo Ground Command. Mike |

"and they are overly well attached to the sprue" Wow, are those really the sprues? Why wouldn't they cut those things off and re-use all that metal? auction Dan |

I have to agree that the sprues, feeds and air bleeds are a little excessive and some of the metal castings for the vehicles need a fair bit of cleaning up, but the result is worth the effort if, like me, you are a Halo fan. Mike |

@Mike How did you detach the figures, even using clippers I've found the task a real pain – and I've had a couple of causalities? Some photos on this thread – but no comparison shots I'd didn't get around to it. TMP link |

@ WETPATCH I snipped all the little feeds that go from the sprue to the arms etc. and then used a jewellers saw to detach the figures base from the sprue. Mike |
ROUWetPatchBehindTheSofa | 15 Apr 2017 2:35 a.m. PST |
Ah, did try a saw but mines a larger modelling one and I lack a descent work bench – so was still ending up with bent ankles. |

Thanks for all the replies and info. A pity about the figs. |
Borscope | 23 Apr 2017 4:46 p.m. PST |
I haven't seen ANY painted figs, barely any bland white (resin?) unpainted figs, and until I just went on the Spartan games website and searched for it a bit, couldn't even find it…then I see the price! You'd think they'd be banging on this board, the 15mm scifi facebook group, and shooting signal flares up on their own website. It's like they're trying to lose money on it. |

Using TMP traffic to gauge a game's popularity doesn't really work as well as it used to. Check out the Halo Ground Wars FB page for lots of painted figs, batreps, and other things related: link Agree about the price; I haven't purchased anything past the starter set. I'm sure MS/343 are collecting a hefty royalty for each unit sold, so I wouldn't hold my breath for sensible pricing. |
