Does anybody make a Lord Roberts figure? Mark |

I made a couple…
…both from old Wargames Foundry command figures: the seated version converted from a WWI British officer; the standing receiving dispatches version converted from a FPW German officer. Minifigs may still have a mounted version in their old colonial range, but I think that's the only commercially produced one -- at least until the Perrys and/or Artizan add one to their respective Victoria's Little Wars and Second Afghan War ranges. EDIT: Remembered one of the more "characterful" British officer sculpts from Artizan, who might work:

Of course if you convert one of these Foundry figures as above or from the FPW range, to use with Perrys or Empress etc, the slightly smaller stature works perfectly for Bobs… |

Artizan has some nice figures but are on the large size compared to Perry's plus I don't have the talent you guys have. Mark |

Well… that doesn't seem to have helped much! Here's another possibility, from the Empress Miniatures Zulu War range, which are smaller and less chunky than the Artizan Second Afghan War figures, and would require no conversion work at all… It's the mounted command character figure of Lieutenant-Colonel Henry Burmester Pulleine, as seen here:
…from pack ZWB22, including him and Lieutenant Melvill, with their horses. Here's a LINK to their appropriate catalogue page in case you're interested: link The Pulleine sculpt has about the right facial hair, wears a patrol jacket like that worn in at least one 1879 photo of Roberts in Afghanistan, and holds a pair of binoculars, which can denote, "high command." In fact, the next time I need a mounted General Roberts for one of my own games, I may well use my own! |

Yes that's a great looking figure.I did order the one from Empress, also ordered Evelyn Wood and Redvers Buller. Trying to get all well known Victorian generals from Ashanti War until Tirah.Perry has Wolseley ,Stewart,Gordon and Graham Mark |

Mad Guru- Thanks. The conversion turned out well, probably because my hands did not touch it. My friend Vince did the conversion and the painting was done by "Atheling" who is a member here on TMP. |
