What a joyously villainous villain.
I was reminded of Tywin Lannister, in his ruthlessness.
I was reminded of Lord Petyr Baelish in his embrace of Chaos as a ladder.
But enough of Game of thrones villainy.
Finally, I was reminded of Richard III, in his soliloquies. "I am determined to prove a villain!" No one breaks the 4th Wall like good old Gloucester. "Dive thoughts, down to my soul… Here comes the Vice President."

I just started to watch HoC simply because
I get a free month of Netflix with my Xfinity account. I started Netflix to watch Captain America Civil War (free on Netflix, pay for it on Xfinity…), so decided to catch up on my free month.
I was blown away at how much FUN it is, especially after the grim Homeland.

You may well think that but I couldn't possibly comment.

Kevin Spacey is great, no doubt about it.

But if you like the current American version of HoC, go watch the original British version with Ian Richardson. Produced by the BBC, it played in the U.S. on PBS back in 1991. One of the shows that put "Masterpiece" into "Masterpiece Theater."

Ah, Francis Urqhart (the character Frank Underwood was based on). Such an evil sod.

Somewhere in the BBC show there's a use of his initials on a newspaper headline that flashes by. Even though it was it only a quick glimpse, I was surprised it got past the censors based on what the headline said.

A great phrase from Francis Urquart.
