Finished up two units of skelly halberdiers, based as units for Kings of War. The first unit is "advancing, with halberds high at the ready and back rank marching. I chose to put two torch standards in this unit, as multiple torches and candle standards is a prevalent theme in Bruegel's Triumph of Death painting.

I've designed my "deckled" bases to fit together, so you could take these two units and make a Kings of War regiment. This gives a lot more flexibility and also makes them more useful for Oldhammer games. Both of these units, the Javelin regiment, and all of my single painted figures- including the one off conversions- are pledge rewards as part of my upcoming Kickstarter.

It's all so very nice. Can't wait for the kickstarter!

I want to say 'beautiful!', umm, but that doesn't seem appropriate somehow, very inspirational though!

Good observation about the torches! They look great!

I really like the mounted skeleton you've had done as a stretch goal. Its the closest I've seen to a the White Walker leader from Game of Thrones

Skull and Crown07 Apr 2017 10:58 a.m. PST

Thanks Gents! Black Cavalier, The Mounted death command figure is based upon an drawing from Albrecht Durer- but yeah, he'd make a great White Walker.

We just sculpted up another arm variant, so he comes with scythe arm and then an arm outstretched holding an hour glass.

Oh,golly, these could lure me back into fantasy gaming, after forty years!

Skull and Crown07 Apr 2017 5:53 p.m. PST

Hafen- don't think of them as fantasy, think of them as "late German"…
See- here they are using a German standard

I knew those guys were up to no good. . .

And yes, I guess they would have to be called "late Germans"!

Wow! These are great! Please keep us advised about the kickstarter.

Sigwald08 Apr 2017 7:28 a.m. PST

Yeah wow! These are incredible! Are you going to do pike and shot figures? I would have to do an Italian wars Albrecht Dürer death army with these great figures

Skull and Crown08 Apr 2017 9:43 a.m. PST

Just Bill- will do!
Sigwald- thanks- One of the reasons I held off on the KS launch was I decided to make a couple of the models "open handed" to allow for much more flexibility. I even did a couple of prototype pike and sword with shield

That being said, the Kickstarter is to fund, erm, fleshing out… the army. I've already got 3 pike poses in the works. As to shot, my first thought was to have skeleton crossbow ala Italian wars, mainly because no one that I know of have done skeleton crossbow, and I'm not sure undead are adept enough to use arquibus. But- if I get enough feedback that that's what you'ze guys want, we can do it!

Cheers- love all your feedback!
