Fingers crossed that this will be a good set. |

The rules will be based on Knight Rampant by Daniel Mersey. Like every other set of rules published by Osprey. 😉 |

Be interesting to see if miniatures come out to support this, and in what scale. |

Car Wars is better in memory than in reality. A new version – or similarly-themed game – can really improve on 1/10th of a second turns that take several minutes to resolve. You could spend a couple of hours resolving a combat that lasts less than a second in "real time". |

darthfozzywig – Totally understand what you're talking about. Try Machinas, the author, Carmen, really did a good job in keeping everyone involved all the time. Here are some Bat Reps. link

Cool. I'm pretty well set for post apoc and I like Nuclear Renaissance's vehicle rules. Still, I'll probably buy it. I like these Osprey rulesets. |

Thanks, Ed, I'll check it out. |

There are a crapton of auto combat games out there right now, new and old. Got a list around here some where. Grimm |

Interesting…. Let us wait and see if this falls into the Good Osprey camp or the Bad Osprey camp! Anyone know about the author's work? Has he done other rules? |

Steve Jackson Games is working on an updated version of Car Wars. They're going for fast and fun as their design criteria. The original version, which I loved when it came out, became bloated to a Star Fleet Battles level, though. When one minute of game time takes two hours to play, something is wrong. |

> When one minute of game time takes two hours to play, something is wrong. Each turn was one second. I was never in a game that lasted for a whole minute of game time. |

I have yet to be disappointed with any game I've bought from Osprey, so I'm looking forward to this one… |
