From reading a number of sources it seems that the Thunderbolt Mountain King Arthur series runs much smaller than 28mm, maybe even smaller than 25mm, meanwhile the Italeri plastic 1/72nd scale Medieval Miniatures (plastic) are said to run somewhat larger than 1/72nd so I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on how they might fit together?

I don't know about the 1/72nd scale figs, but the Thunderbolt figs I've seen seem to be a pretty standard classic/true 25mm (sole to eye).

Here's a comparison of the major 1/72 companies and Thunderbolt Mountain armed peasants--they are the only ones I have. I'm not sure how the rest of the range fits, but I think they'd probably go together well with the larger--Zvezda, Strelets, Italeri, etc.--1/72 sets.

The Thunderbolt Mountain King Arthur range is very well proportioned for true 25mm so would probably fit in well with 1/72nd.

They are smaller and skinier than say Ral Partha 25mm, but they have a metal square base that raises them a few millimetres and have plugs at the bottom of the feet that fit into these bases.

All this adds to height.

They are lovely figures but I'm too scared to paint them. Can I do them justice?

Thanks all.

Kropotkin303 makes a good point about the TM bases.

In the above pic, I re-based the mini onto a 1/72 plastic base, which makes them a much better fit.

Also--the figures in the Italeri set linked above are pretty tall for 1/72--though well proportioned--and should match pretty close to TM.
