General Officer Command Stands for my Swedish Collection for Breitenfeld 1631 I recently had to pull together a gaming force from my growing – nd not nearly finished – collection for Breitenfeld in 28mm. The game was played under the Pike and Shotte rules and I was obliged to create some command stands: one army commander and four battalia commanders. I thought you might like to see what the 1st Corps Swedish commander sets look like, so…
The gaffer. 1st Corps Gustavus Adolphus figure, flanked by a 1st Corps Swedish front rank cavalryman, painted in drabant livery of yellow with black detailing, and a Perry Miniatures trumpeter.
Johan Baner. 1st Corps officer flanked by a Foundry cuirassier.
Erik Soop. Again, 1st Corps officer flanked by Foundry cuirassier.
Horn. Following the theme, 1st Corps officer (on a Front Rank horse) flanked by Foundry cuirassier.
Alexander Leslie. For a change, 1st Corps officer flanked by Foundry cuirassier. Leslie rides a Front Rank horse. Hope this is of some interest. Regards, Steve |

Well done very nice! Did you do your own army lists or did you use the one on "Devil's Playground"? |

Unfortunately, the figures in the game were standing in for ECW Royalists. Cheriton, I think. Unless I'm playing in a competition I never use army lists. The 'Devil's Playground' list for Gustavus-era Swedes is purest bilge. Maximum two units of commanded shot in an army? I have five for my front-line, right wing cavalry alone. |

Yeah, I am also working on a Breitenfeld game and found their army makeup and deployment suspect. However, their book does have much merit and great pics. Aka see their Saxon deployment?😋 |
