Hi all,

For those of you who don't know me, I'm Scott Case- the mod for the Arthurwars yahoo egroup. I'm looking for a few good gamers to join me and Eric Mumper of Fiery Arrow Productions in hosting a massive Badon Hill game at Historicon. We have currently assembled roughly 700 Britons and Saxons for the game, however we want it to be 1000+ figures!

The game will be held at 7ish on Saturday night and will probably run for most of the night! I will be a huge and fun game to say the least! Think Badon Hill, with each mini representing around 2-3 men and you're getting the idea!

Now the details:

Scale: 28mm (big 25mm- Old Glory, Gripping Beast, etc)
Rules: Eric's Bloodlines (a new game being showcased)
Date: July 23d

This event is also being sponsored by MagWeb.com.

There will be prizes at the event for players and for on-lookers.

If your're interested in joining in the fun (with minis!) give me a yell at tgunner_91@yahoo.com or post here.

Scott, I'm out on the west coast, near Portland { GagHack}.
I built some beautiful 25-8mm armies 4-5 years ago.
There must be 300 assorted Britons, and easily that many Saxons, 60 or so Irish and 60 MTD. "Knights" including Arthur.
ALl Gripping Beast, Foundry , Old Glory. Ruined Hill Fort, all kinds of hovels, buildings from Grand Manner and Gripping Beast.Great stuf if I do say so myself. Never been to Historicon, I think I might try and get out there this year.
I'll see if I can swing it.

Hey Scott,

Prizes for the on-lookers too? WOW, that's the way to run a game. See you there.

Scott, I think David McBride e-mailed you. He and I are both interested and he can provide about 100 figs per side.

Tgunner31 May 2005 8:26 p.m. PST

Hi Ralph,

Indeed, there will be prizes for on-lookers. I'm not quite sure what all we will be giving out, however I do know that there will probably be a Viking Sword and a unit of painted minis! We are still organizing the whole thing, so the details will be coming along soon.

And in case you are wondering, yes, it is an evil ploy to get you over to see the game! I'm not sure just how many slots will be open for players- however anyone who is providing miniatures for the event WILL have a slot.

Basing is 1" round bases, however I'm using my WAB forces which are mounted on 20mm squares. I'm sure other similar basing will be fine, but we will need to run it past Eric to make sure other basing standards will work with his rules.

Doc: Yes, I just got an email from David. I'll write him back in the morning. However 100 minis per side would be excellent :D

Thanks!

Scott

Oh, as a shameless plug:

We are currently discussing the game at the Yahoo Arthurwars group. If you want to participate in the discussion then feel free to join the group. Here is the link:

You don't have to join the group to participate in the game. Just drop me a line or respond to this post.

Are there slots for "bad" gamers, as well?
I tend to execute poorly, roll dice even worse, and not pay attention (due to drinking too much!)

LOL! "Bad" gamers will do too... Humm, might actually stand a chance of winning now...

Scott,

Thanks for the heads-up. I am always looking to get some medieval wargaming in at Historicon. I will certainly register for the event.

Looking forward to it.
Cheers,
Robert

Too bad I'm running a game at the same time. This sounds like fun.

How did all of this work out? I wasn't interested in King Arthur in 2005 but at the 2016 fall in, I plan to put on a similar game using DBA three. In 25 mm scale, modern figures of 28 however. I have 10 armies: 2 each Roman, Arthur, Saxon, and Vortigan also one to each Irish and Pict. This will be Friday night at 7 PM.

Did this game get reported on the web somewhere I'd love to see the layout.

Crazy me. I misread the first date and said "Wow! MagWeb is back!"
