What exactly would have been the uniform worn by the US marines during the 1st Barbary War? I've found so many illustrations but none show the same uniform! Green uniforms with a sort of crested bowler hat, the same but with a blue uniform, braided white, yellow or not. Blue uniform with a shako, blue uniform with red and/or white facings.White uniforms and even light grey ones. So if anyone can direct me to an accurate illustration I'd be most grateful! For that matter if anyone knows of any 28mm figures that would be useful for these marines I'd be doubly grateful. Don't mind a few simple conversions. After all it was just 9 men… |

Here ya go:
You will have to convert figures. I suggest Legion of the United States figures, cutting off the bearskin crest, and shortening the coat tails a bit. Some early War of 1812 officers might work for Eaton and O'Bannon. Due to a lack of figures, I decided to move my Barbary Wars to 1815. Thoroughbred make an excellent range in 15mm, and I already have the terrain and buildings from my Force on Force project: link |

Thanks very much Daryl! I actually found that first illustration but for some reason facing the other way and with the uniforms a distinctive green. The picture of the miniatures makes everything clear though. |
