From Forces Net: link

"Before its adoption in 2010, MTP camouflage was trialled in a number of environments, including deserts and grasslands. Tests in urban areas resulted in splodges of beige and dark brown being added to break up the patterns and add shadows.

But with the focus of operations moving away from more rural fighting environments in Afghanistan and Iraq, to the likes of densely populated Estonia and Poland, sources say the British Army have been increasingly concerned about the visibility of soldiers wearing MTP camo."

Looks quite natty … Didn't notice it yesterday … ,-)

About to say, a day late!

Reminds me of the brick hessian we used to paint for the vehicles in the 80s!

Tally ho!

Ditto m8.
IIRC, we deployed it 1x, for about 30 mins. on Lionheart. Being CP, spent the rest of that ex pretty much nice & comfy in barns. The guns had to dig in on the fields, of course :-)

It is hardly a surprise that MTP is far too light for urban warfare, or warfare in dank North European pine forests either.

Good old DPM though….

Lol, sawing bee champion, you should see the new disco disruptive pattern, designed after the Paris concert and US nightclub attacks, to be used in similar situations, 5different coloured sequins are used.

There was some discussion on this subject way back when Ulster was kicking off. Problem then as now is that if it is effective in urban areas you stick out like a tit everywhere else…
Surprised nobody has suggested shreddies and spray paint… bit bloody narky though… should appeal to the desk jockeys though.. think of the savings on material…

They are also experimenting with the Gotye camo pattern. It makes you look like somebody that I used to know.

Ha! That's my Battalion 2ic! I reckon he'll have to get a few beers in now.

By the way don't take it too seriously. Check the date it was published!
