I made a tutorial on how to make easy stone walls without molding or painstaking masonry. Check it out: YouTube link Thanks for watching! |

Why not include a teaser pbotograph here? I'm averse to wading through video amd I'm sure others are too. (The still on the video looks promising!) |

Love the flat flakes of stone. That is a great idea. |

Thanks! I was just got into Bolt Action and was thinking about making some terrain. I'll have to check out your other videos as well. |

I agree with flashman. Sadly I haven't time to look through every YouTube clip I come across and have to be a bit picky. A photo would help me make a decision. John T |

This is gonna sound like everyone's ganging up to bully The Baron. I don't think it is TBH. I had a look, but I normally wouldn't have … because there was no "preview pic". I only did because I'm all into stone walls today thanks to Eric of ShedWars, who "did" post a couple of enticing & inviting pics… See what I'm getting at? And just to mention: Your walls are effing excellent! On edit: And your voice is incredibly sexeh! On 2nd edit: Your walls look fantastic. I think for even more realism, you could afford to place the micre (SP?) bits even closer together? On 3rd edit: Have you tried (I'm sure you have!) a brown wash instead of black? Regardless, fantastic final result!!! |

Aye – I didn't intend malice. On the contrary – I wanted to help you get more views – and a little bait is how you do that. |

No worries flash, I didn't take it maliciously. In fact I tried to edit the post but saw your post too late to add a picture. That is a great suggestion and in the future I will add pictures to the post. Appreciate the feedback! Dwindling Gravitas, if I make more walls in the future I probably will decrease the space in between the stone. I was hoping those little aquarium rocks would stick better, but most fell out unfortunately. I think mixing a brown and black wash would give it a very nice effect. I debated using some brown, but decided I wanted a more stark, less warm effect…now I kind of regret not throwing some in there. Thanks for watching and I appreciate the feedback! |

So basically, you "are" admitting that you're exploiting your sexeh voice to bait TMPers to view your … "personal videos" … ? And no backing out now … I watched it all! :-) |

Hah! Thanks for the compliment! Several have sworn that I sound like a weird robotic voice for a cheap gps. |

Not at all. I admit, I was thoroughly aroused … (but I do have a thang for robots … especially K-2SO) |

Very nice walls – will have to go hunting for mica flakes John |

Would probably look a little bit better if you got a bit of the slightly larger aquarium gravel along with some fine sand on top of what you have. For the top of it, don't overlap the edge, but on the top of it use the larger gravel for the top and then when you have the sides with the flakes and small gravel, dust it with a fine sand… For painting, you probably also want to pick out a few of the flakes for different stone colors to add variety to it. |

Red Beard Baron, nice video, nice walls.* I agree using the flatter aquarium gravel gives a better effect than the rounded stones we usually see. Flashman14 I too am often averse to gamer craft videos, as it often seems they are much longer than it would take to read an illustrated article. What I do is run these videos at double speed without sound, on another monitor while I'm doing something else. I know most terrain craft techniques by now so this is generally enough, and of course if I miss something I can always back up, slow down, and/or engage audio. *-full disclosure, I didn't listen to all of the audio. ;) |

I agree Ceru, I often cannot sit through entire terrain videos, which is why I try and keep my videos no more than 10-11 minutes. I appreciate you taking the time to watch though! |

Red Beard, about how long did those six sections take you? Not counting drying time of course. |
Red Beard Baron | 05 Apr 2017 9:06 a.m. PST |
I would say around 3-4 hours for 4 1/2 feet of wall. The drying time was substantial though…cheap craft paint takes forever to dry! |
