According to famous geneticist Dr. Bryan Sykes, they could be from an ancient group that left Africa and penetrated Asia long ago:

"Dr. Sykes results indicate that Zana's offspring have the same percent of Neanderthal as the rest of the current population which contains Neanderthal DNA. Analysis of her sons tooth show that she was 100% Sub-Saharan African. Either an escaped slave or possibly from a more ancient migration out of Africa."

Weird how he leaves the options open, but everyone publishes his results differently.

It's not weird. It's standard practise in ethnic research. You get a different answer from different labs. That's why it's a waste of money getting your DNA checked by commercial labs. Each one gives you different results.

DNA research is still young and some of those involved have motives that aren't purely scientific.Chances are a few more theory's will spring up before long.

I like to consult the eight ball for my answers. Faster, cheaper and you only have to buy one.
