I am editing my latest time Portal Passages special edition and I came across this tidbit.

Jackson's 1812 Command
The 1812 Army of Tennessee was formed and embarked on the long trek to New Orleans. Here the force was intended to join the assault on Mobile and Pensacola. The American commander of New Orleans was General Wilkerson who feared sharing the ‘glory' with General Jackson and possibly losing his command to him. Wilkerson sent orders halting the movement of the Tennessee Command as it was loading onto barges to proceed down the Mississippi River. General Jackson requested from Washington permission to proceed north and assist the Americans in their effort against the British-Canadians and their Indian Allies. The request was never approved, so the command returned to Nashville and the Army was disbanded as the terms of enlisted expired.

I wonder if any 1812 strategic game has included the Jackson Tennessee Division moving north as an option?
So what are the other options? A Jackson move into Texas and Spanish territory?

It was General James Wilkinson, not Wilkerson, who aborted Jackson's movement down the Mississippi.
