My group and I game from about late October to early May, generally the cold period in the Chicago area. Part of it is more things going on outside when the weather is warm, i.e. outdoor hobbies, yard work, get togethers. But for me personally I lose all desire to game, paint or even think about the hobby during those months. Sometimes I even wonder if my interest in gaming will return at all, but as soon as the cold weather returns I am raring to go.

Do you game all year round? Have regular periods away from the hobby or just periodically when you feel burned out?

I seem to be most interested in the Fall, from September to December. I've done most of my major projects then. I also have been most likely to go to Fall-In, rather than Cold Wars or Historicon.

Don't have a season as such, but seem to get more gaming in during the colder months.

For me it certainly maps to the winter season, but we manage to get some gaming in across the year.

All but one of our group's retired-all year round.

Year round for us.

Every Thursday in the winter months. Depending on who is on holidays, how many of us are available we will game in the summer.

Starts in January, ends in December.

All year – if the weather is nice I can open a window.

I work a lot of overtime from late august until Jan, so I do very little gaming then.

We, as a club, stop at holiday times and all August.

Yes, but it doesn't coincide with my friend's gaming seasoms

Any season is gaming season as far as I am concerned. There will be times when some folks will be away on holiday, but we always seem to be able to organise a game most weeks.

The only seasonal thing I've noticed is that I like to paint Vikings in the summer when it's warm and Greeks in the winter when it's cold.

You forgot drive-by shootings.
