Ok, here goes again!
I should probably just start a blog to catalogue all my minis (since thats what I am doing these days), but until someone tells me to stop posting hereI will continue to carpet bomb TMP with photos;)

I continue with the French army.
These are the French Line Chasseurs a Cheval (or some of the regiments at least). There were 31 of them at one point, but I have collected the ones I thought looked the nicest (19 reg. in all).
Some of them I have in both early, mid-and late Napoleonic uniforms.
The uniforms are mostly based on the drawings by Knoetel D.J from Eltings books, Patrice Courcelle and Jack Girbals drawings, Vernets paintings and the excellent "historie and uniforms" collection.

All minis are 15mm. They are a mix of makes: as usual mostly AB, but also Battle Honors, CGM, Warmodelling, Blue Moon (on AB horses) and Lancashire.
Painted mostly by Neil (at RBP), Rafa "Archiduque" and myself (without any further comparison!:)
I have sought to have a consistent basing "style" to make up for obvious differences in painting quality.

Well, hope you like them! Feel free to comment or ask questions.
As always, tons more photos of these and other units over on my flickr:

PS: Next up are the French Line foot/horse arty but after that I am unsure what to photograph.
Maybe I can let you folks decide: Cuirassiers? Dragoons? Lancers? Guard? Staff? Line infantry? Light Infantry? Skirmishers? Regiments etranger? any preferences just feel free to call them out;)

I knew you were just teasing us…..worth waiting for. Somehow always the poor relation in French Cavalry, those Chasseurs. Much ignored, maybe like the Dragoons but even more so……

Wonderful, best post yet!! :)

Which to post next? Be a real wargamer, roll a dice.

Dr Jeckyll31 Mar 2017 3:42 a.m. PST

Thanks for all the nice comments and encouragement folks!!
Well, that sure motivates me to continue posting:)

Like I said, next up is the Line artillery..
But after that, perhaps another branch that has not gotten enough attention, the Line Dragoons or perhaps the Lancers..Whatever it will be I am dependent on some decent sunshine to photograph them.

Impressive, there can never be enough chasseurs a cheval!

Early morning writer01 Apr 2017 11:55 p.m. PST

256 riders, 256 horses if my count is correct for 512 pieces. Not bad – and in the right scale for me, too.

How about next the Vivandieres and other assorted and sordid camp followers? Or not.

Mateus03 Apr 2017 10:03 a.m. PST

Jeckyll, what a wonderful collection, and great source of reference for other painters (like me).

You should definitely start a blog, with an index for easy reference to look for all those units!
