The Atlantic City Convention Center is calling hmgs. 500+ Sheraton rooms clean easy to get to. On site food and bars. Tons of space. They would drool over hmgs coming there and filing up the hotel. Don't be scared of traffic we arrive on Wednesday or Thursday and leave on Sunday early afternoon before the mass exodus from the beaches. Friday and Saturday night would be a nightmare but we would already be gaming. There is no casino. I have attended many conventions there and have been great. Look at the floor plan modern facility for everyone needs. Handicap etc. If you dont like to gamble beaches close by, Smithville, Wineries six flags is about an hour away. Oh and an airport close by for our international and southern friends spirit air cheap flights.

Sounds like its worth checking out.

And what's the cost?

Dynaman878930 Mar 2017 4:33 a.m. PST

In the winter it might not be bad, for Historicon it is probably a no way option. Free parking is out of the question.

And of course there'd be NO OTHER PEOPLE THERE IN THE
SUMMER, RIGHT ????

All the times I've been to AC (born in NJ, y'see) it's
been pretty crowded in the summer time…

Maybe Fall-In !…

So you know this for a fact Ranger or is this just your opinion? At the membership meeting at Cold Wars they stated that thousands of requests were sent out but only a couple of places replied back.

So they charge for parking?

Is it a union facility? In other words, can everyone bring their own stuff in and out of the building, including the dealers?

Larry R30 Mar 2017 6:30 a.m. PST

Going to AC in the summer is worse than going to Fredericksburg in the summer.

Just don't wonder to far from the convention, I've been to AC and the summer would be a nightmare.

Almost certainly a Union facility that would bankrupt 90% of the dealers before they unloaded. Also, a slum a block off the boardwalk. The summer is a non-starter.

Almost certainly charge for parking, plus the added complexities in loading/unloading that were raised (and ignored by those who didn't want the let "reactionaries" stop the progress to the "next level").

Kudos for creative thought, but I'd be stunned if AC could work for HMGS.

FYI, that brings us to a point when people crap on certain locations. There simply are not many locations that can accommodate our combination of rooms, square footage, price, and flexibility (in terms of loading/unloading without paying someone $80 USD and hour to do it). The Host isn't ideal, but it does work.
