We have a few greats, Freddie (both the regular and Mercury kind) Cathy, Alex etc.

But which other historic leader(s) should also change their last name to great?

George the Great Washington

Winston the Great
(I did not give a surname here, since there are precious few Winstons, while there are a lot of Georges.)

It's strange that history labels certain leaders as "the Great" for expanding their empires through military force. We have Alexander the Great and Peter the Great and so many others who brought about the death of a lot of people. Why don't we give the label "the Great" to people who made life better for humanity? We could have Beethoven the Great for giving us great music, and Gutenberg the Great for inventing the printing press, and others who gave us inventions which transformed humans for the better or discovered cures for diseases.

I don't know about the rest, but there were many Alexanders in the past.

Alexander the Great was himself Alexander III, but he clearly became the most notable of all Macedonian monarchs with that name.
