"If I post your hard work what do you want in return?" Topic

If I visit your blog (of war), like what I see, and decide to share it on TMP or similar sites, what is the minimum you would require from me in exchange:

A) don't use my stuff
B) state clearly who created the work, or piece of information
C) as B, and include the LINK
D) do what you want, I'm not bothered
E) something else

There is so much great stuff out there!

What if you don't get that sort of recognition. Do you complain to the poster or seeth inwardly?

I always try to attribute when I repost someone's glorious work and was chuffed once when the original blogger/poster reported a significant increase in his visitor totals for the month.

It doesn't take much to treat people respectfully.

It's the internet, you can't really "require" anything, unless you want to get lawyers involved. And for a blog, it's probably not worth the pound of flesh they charge.

But my answer is still C, just because it's the right thing to do.

I've had material from my blog published elsewhere, and erroneously captioned as something that the photo did not show.

Similarly, some material a friend and I posted of one of our gams, was posted without attribution.

And I was honoured by it.

I had someone take pictures from one of my games and posted it on his blog and took all the credit for it.
