To try out some rules and get ready for Cold Wars the club played the battle of Elkhorn Tavern. We did not know which battle it was at the time just that it was a real historical battle. This added a little to the entertainment as no one had any preconceived ideas about any possible outcomes. The outcome was historically accurate in the end interesting enough. Historical result was a convincing Union victory. Union was on the ropes after the first day but the Confederate army came apart on the second day. Van Dorn (CSA CO) would do pretty much the same thing at Corinth later on, another two day battle. |
