If you aren't sure whether Scum of the Earth is something you should get into, we've made a demo version available for the princely sum of a dollar.

This contains everything needed to play infantry and cavalry actions, including a selection of 10 traits.

Artillery, characters, campaigns, period notes and so on is left out.

I was a bit uncertain about whether to make the demo free and make it super stripped down, or make it a bit beefier and charge a buck.
In the end, I felt the latter was a better choice:

The demo can play out a serious game that will give you a proper feel for the game and if you find the rules aren't quite your thing, or black powder gaming is just an occasional pleasure, then you can stop there.

If you dig the system, you're going to want to see how bananas cool our campaign system is, and you can graduate to the full version :)

If you want a glance at how the system runs, this gentleman has an AAR up. It's ECW but should give you a decent impression regardless.

What a scummy thing to do! grin

Thanks for the preview and demo. I rather stupidly gave up spending money frivolously on games etc for Lent. So, while Scum: Blackpowder is on my short list of things to purchase, it will have to wait until Easter.
