A retrospective of the year we spent playing 14 battles of the Franco-Prussian War in 15mm using the Bloody Big Battles rules.

Well done – an excellent summary – are you going to start over?

And here is the link to Vincient's blog corlearshookfencibles.blogspot.co.uk/2017/03/la-guerre-est-finie.html

I really enjoyed following that campaign, your AARs were excellent. Pulling for the French to win but yeah, like that was going to happen.

Thank you, Shedman. Thought I had posted the link, obviously didn't. No, we're not going to redo this campaign anytime soon though we may well replay individual battles from it. This Thursday we are going to re-fight Shiloh again. We have a new member who hasn't played any ACW yet. And we have Gettysburg in the queue. And I'm working on a Marengo scenario. And My 1866 Austrians are looking to show the Prussians the door…

Thanks, mghFond. In a while you can root for the double-headed eagle legions.

C'est magnifique!

If you ever need to get another FPW fix, there's still the Champigny / Villiers scenario you skipped. (And maybe Noisseville some time too.) :-)

So … how do I order a bloody set of said bloody rules ?

vtsaogames27 Mar 2017 8:42 a.m. PST

What side of the pond are you on, Ramming?

ChrisBBB27 Mar 2017 8:49 a.m. PST

If you're in the UK – from bloody Caliver books! The rulebook that includes the FPW scenarios is here:

And if you want the "Bloody Big European Battles!" scenario book as well (Crimean War, Austro-Prussian, Russo-Turkish etc):
