What should I use for 1812 campaign? I am going to use Blue moon figures. Should I use 1805-1807 figures or 1812-1815 or a mix of the two?

Thanks

Leigh

I am doing a campaign in28mm. I am using more from 1812 and on ranges, but I do mix in some figures wearing pre-1812 uniform/shako for variety and because it is likely that not all regiments received the new uniform and kiwer simultaneously.

Good luck with the campaign and collection of miniatures. Blue Moon makes nice stuff.

As with ccmatty, just finishing off 480 Perry plastics, for my 1812/13 project. All of my Guards and Grenadiers are in the late shako but most of my Line are in the early,

I'm actually mixing a bit, with some 1812-1815 and some with the earlier uniform, for my SP2 force.

That way I can have older uniforms for more "elite" formations, such as my light infantry carabiniers, or to show if a unit are veterans, as the uniform difference is big enough to see it at a glace in 28mm at least.

My French are a mix of Bardin and earlier uniforms. My buddies Russians are a mix of 1812 and earlier. My Austrians are a mix of 1809 and earlier. Works for us.

I wouldn't mix 1806 Russians with 1812 ones, a very different silhouette created by the back pack – in case go for 1812 Russians and look out for producers who do also an 1810 Russian Army which would mix very well with an 1812 one, or do 1812 Russians with the usual bell topped shako of 1810 and not the diputed concave one of 1812, Sho Boki does a nice set of those

My old Russian Infantry sets are not available now. Out of stock. Will be available again after resculpting.

Wow Nickinsomerset! 480!!!

Not to highjack the thread, but I got so tired of the march poses. I have had a hard time finding any skirmishing or firing line poses other than one SKU from Perry and a handful from Front Rank.

I think I would pluck my eyeballs out at 480…incredible.

It is the Perry Corps deal, ccmatty, superb price for a ton of troops, guns, commanders. And where I am they are all I have had to paint ,so no choice!!
