… Canceled Sci-Fi Classic. "Syfy's epic space show The Expanse is a smash hit among science fiction fans, drawing praise from websites like io9 and Ars Technica and from celebrities like Adam Savage. Geek's Guide to the Galaxy host David Barr Kirtley also loves the show. "This is my favorite show on TV," Kirtley says in Episode 248 of the Geek's Guide to the Galaxy podcast. "This is the most serious science fiction TV show—in terms of what hardcore science fiction fans would want in a TV show—that I've seen in a long time, possibly ever." But while the show is widely praised in many corners, it has yet to attract a wider audience. John J. Joex, who tracks the ratings of various shows over at Cancelled Sci Fi, says that The Expanse looks like a show headed for cancellation. "The ratings started out decent and then really dropped off," he says. "And I know this is an expensive series to produce, so I was really getting kind of nervous about it."…" Main page link Amicalement Armand

I tried watching one ep and was totally lost. Way to much going on at one time for me to figure out who is who and what there doing. Turned it on for about 3 minutes the other night and turned to something else. Looks great, but meh… |

Stopped watching after the first episode had stealth space ships. |

Try watching Game of Thrones then, thats simple and straight forward without to many characters 😉 |

I liked the first season but haven't gotten around to the new season. They've done a good job adapting the book and I hope it lasts long enough to get to the later books. |

Its a series I really enjoy, but definitely not for everyone. |
Legion 4 | 25 Mar 2017 2:45 p.m. PST |
I enjoy it too. Probably one of the better/best offerings on Sy-Fy, at this time, IMO. But Sy-Fy has so much on it with some having nothing to do with Sci-fi, Fantasy, or Horror … So who knows ? |

Great show actually follows the books. |

I love it! For me, its other best sci if since Battlestar… |

Excellent show which is usually the Kiss of Death. |

I believe its only available in the UK from Netflix (or as a series DVD), so its always going to struggle for a wider audience in the UK at least. |

I am really enjoying it, so hope it doesn't get cancelled, but I imagine they can throw another 10 – 20 Sharknado movies together, or similar drivel, if the bean counters are permitted to run things. |

I just got the DVD set for the first season. I have the second season sitting on the DVR. Just need to watch it. I would be happy if it moves off ScyFy and Netflix takes it over. |

That's my main watch. I watch the DVR from the last night before any of my other recorded shows. Sci-Fy shows always have the problem of not enough viewers. People want hat-cha-cha shows about their own situations. Space themes often explore strange situations and viewers don't connect. That is why shows about time travelers always seem to come to NY City the current year. Plus their isn't a lot of nudity and blood or mutants. Or even kids or dogs in danger. |

I freakin' love The Expanse. I hope they keep it going. |

While I certainly think the signal needs to be boosted about this show, I should note that SyFy did just renew it for a third season: link |

I think the point of the article was that if season three's ratings don't improve there will not be a season four. Now if they manage to wrap up the story by the end of season three I'd be just as happy. While I love the show I actually find that three to four seasons is the point of diminishing returns for me, any longer and the main plot tends to drag out to much and after a while I just don't care any more, the same goes for books and movies, of course ymmv. |

I would absolutely love to see them try and cram a ten book series into four seasons. At an average of 500 pages per book… With four books not even published. |

I still miss SG1, if they hadn't cancelled sg1 and Atlantis for that horrible short lived travesty. We could be on season 20 and 13 of those shows now. |

They got renewed for S3 (another 13 episodes) a couple of weeks back. So it's already better than several other prior cancelled shows. And if it stops syfy making more sharknadopocalypse movies, I'll keep watching it. |
chromedog | 11 Apr 2017 2:39 a.m. PST |
Ok, so it didn't stop them making sharknado movies (there's #5 coming this year sometime). The rest stands, though. |
Sargonarhes | 20 Apr 2017 7:39 p.m. PST |
I can't watch is as I don't have cable. Can't even find the series streaming any where. And don't say Netflix I dropped them years ago. |
chromedog | 22 Apr 2017 2:13 a.m. PST |
It can be found on the torrents, though. It's where I got it from. It was promoted as "coming in 2016" on the local syfy cable channel – but then never happened because netflix Oz started up and gazumped the deal with SyFy (US). Unfortunately for local viewers, netflix can't screen S2 until after Syfy US has shown the entire thing – and even then, int'l distribution gets delayed even longer. I've already watched S1-S2. |
