Hi,

I have some sprues of warlord games NNC and as I'm not interested in zulu war I want to use them as something else (historical or not).

Any suggestions?

Ditch the assegais, disguise the shields, add plastic rifles and laserguns, paint them as blueskins and start playing Sci-Fi.

What fantasy do you play? They would make a great (if perpetually chilly) warband for Frostgrave.

Hmm… largely naked male figures in action poses.

Superheroes?

They'd work well unconverted as some types of Askari (especially with the rifle arms), or for generic "tribals" in a pulp game. You could definitely use them in a game of Congo. The Perry Anasar Warrior sprue has fez heads that could be handy here, though many Askari wore other (or no) headgear, and adding a fez or tarbush with putty is a pretty easy conversion.

Headswaps and appropriate weapons and/or shields could convert them into Picts or Celts (maybe use a bit of putty to add a kilt, or carve back the loincloth a little and putty on some breeches).

The big problem is all the cowhide decoration these figures wear, I would just sell them on to a Zulu war fan….

Sculpt some headdresses on them and use them as Ngoni.

A new edition of "Death in the Dark Continent" is coming out soon.

You know, "figures I don't have a use for" is pretty much why we have flea markets.

I used some for The Hereros in the German South Africa wars. I added rifles. Some are used as bearers and ascaris for Safari games.

paint green and call them orcs…no reason to change the shield or weapons…

I painted them green once. Not intentionally, just a couple of layers of paint that went together in a way I didn't quite expect!

Not a nice orcish green though. More like the sort of green you get on stganant water.

They got better.

I wanted them as humans, not blue, not green, in this case I want them in brown.

Maybe I will use them as Kukuana Native Contingent.
