I've tried once already and the bug hit! So second time lucky! I've finished up my first 6 cavalry for my next unit

as always I've added a couple of conversions, so thanks for looking

I love Dixon's and you have done a great job on these. I have a very small collection of them and in the future want to add to it with Dixons only….just have to find more!

Great stuff braken. The difference in the hats and the jackets make them look unique. Pistols and swords and no carbines is really different. And, while I am at it. Only you could make ACW cav into WWII Russian cavalry. I can see what you said about the paint you use on your horses. Have a good day. TIG

Thanks guys for the feedback.

Larry R, Dixon are smashing figures! I know there not to everyone's tastes but they truely have such character.

Joe's Shop thank you also. Rebel Cavalry just look so cool.

Greylegion, thank you also, I am a bit of a fan when it comes to Dixon miniatures.

Thank you also Frederick.

TIG, first up I've got admit turning ACW Cavalry into Russian cavalry wasn't my idea! I can't remember who did it first but it wasn't me. It's a cracking idea which I just couldn't pass on! As for my Rebs my next six will have a couple of carbines or shotguns thrown in for good measure, I'm still converting them so they could end up with either. The Games Workshop colours work perfectly for the horses, well IMHO

Thanks Shagnasty it's much appreciated.

BelgianRay thank you also, the Reb Cavalry had such a stirring image I'm hoping it came across in my painting.

Seriously guys thanks for the comments, all feedback is welcomed, so my next lot are taking shape slowly the conversions are slow going but well worth it.
So thanks for looking
Cheers for now Russ

They look great. Thanks for sharing.

Okay Russ, a serious question here. Your painting pedestals appear to be wine corks. How do you paint so well having drank a bottle of wine for each figure you paint?

Ostrowski thank you for the compliment, I do enjoy painting Rebs!

TIG the truth is I get them from the home brew section in a local shop. I stick a two pence piece on the bottom for stability. Some have a penny stuck on the top and then I blu tac whatever I'm painting to it. I don't think a bottle of wine would help my painting although i am willing to give it ago.
