168 pages of colour rich information with an introduction by writer Charles Singleton, this supplement for Pike & Shotte describes the history, armies, personalities and battles of the English Civil War. Included are detailed scenarios based on some of the most famous battles, complete with maps and orders of battle/army lists for the main protagonists plus full campaign system and siege rules! Pike & Shotte, To Kill A King.

Take care

Andy

What does it give me by way of rules/new gaming stuff over the original Pike and Shotte rules?

I have OB's and history I don't need to really but more of that

I'd love to know how many pages of new rules , again don't need another history or scenario book .

Hello all, I have the book in front of me right now and I can say this…

The book has 168 full -colour pages. It is huge for a supplement book – similar in size as Glory Allelujah! for Black powder – and is full of ECW gamer's and fan's goodness.

There are 25 different Army lists covering Armies from the Bishops Wars to the end of the Civil Wars, including Irish and Clubmen.

There are 12 specific battles scenarios and 3 battle reports. Some of the Scenarios and the Battle reports offer additional specific rules too, either for the game or for the forces used.

There is a section of four pages with period specific additional rules like, for example, the Galloper Guns or the Salvo.

There is a section of 8 pages with ECW campaign rules.

There is a section of 10 pages with additional rules for Sieges.

And yes, of course there is a lot of historical information in each section to provide context and an overview of the whole period in the first 24 pages.

On page 28, there is a selection of banners that can be photocopied and used (these are not the correct size though, so the copies should be magnified accordingly).

All the troop profiles shown in the Army lists and scenarios also provide their points cost.

I hope this helps.

Lorenzo

Puddinhead kindly provided information from the author in a thread I started… but are you able to 100% confirm that the supplement has rules for combined pike & shot units?

(I guess it doesn't matter as I pre-ordered mine this morning, but hey ho!)

Thanks
Chris

I've placed my pre-order if for no other reason than the figure of Jeffery Hudson.

I received mine today and I must say that I am pleased. Reading the rules adjustments for ECW on page 144 seem logical. Eventually I'll get around to getting a game on the table.

Mine came in the post a couple of days ago; I was a little suprised how weighty it is. So far it is reading very well.

Yes, I agree. The lists are very well done: based on location, early or late war and who is commanding with the author including his reasoning. The book strikes me as very well researched.
