Well 17th March has come and gone for another year, but no harm in showing Gringos40 Saint Patrick's battalion..otherwise known as the Irish battalion ..painted up. They fought for the Papal States against the Garibaldini, I am assured. They do make for an impressive looking unit, however they actually performed during the Unification of Italy.

deadhead: Thanks for the photos. I believe that Myles Keough of Custer's last stand fame, among a few others, was a member of the battalion prior to his service in the U.S. Army in the American Civil War. I mention it only because I am not sure if our brother wargamers on the other side of the pond would be aware of that. John Miller
