Part 2 completes the timeline of events in Armenia and can be read at the blog. link I am planning a campaign bringing the Byzantine, Sassanid, Armenia and the mountain kingdoms to the table and this will be done in late April. Cheers, Robert |

good choice for a campaign. The events of 1890-1915 greatly changed the armenia national narrative, but as a Greek I always find it interesting that there was a period of Armenian history were Eastern Romans (heavily hellenised) posed a great threat to the Armenian polities. Of course Armenians also made a big part of the military aristocracy of the Eastern Roman Armies. |

Time to finish up the third Early Armenian DBA army. And the additional options on the Sassanids. Then for the Byzantines… |

Goragrad, You may want to use extra Armenian units as 'allies' of the Sassanid. The political situation was not always harmonious in Armenia. |

I will have some of the old PA-5 Essex Armenian Cats left after building the BBDBA army. I have already used a couple of the Minifig Armenian Cat figures to flesh out a command stand of Minifig Parthians based on a note in one of the Ospreys that Armenian Cats were a welcome addition to any of the armies in the area. I also have enough Minifig Armenian archers and Essex Armenian horse archers for another Armenian army. The Viking Forge Sassanid javelin are very similar in pose and sculpt to the Minifigs Armenian javelin (I noted a while back that I would like to supplement those with another figure as the DBA 3 list notes the Armenian AX as thureophori – best might be the QRS figures, although alternatively I might use some OG15 Paphlagonian spear). At any rate, I can come up with at least 4 complete Early Armenian b or c (mounted some of the PA-5 figures on unarmored horses) version armies which would let me fight BBDBA size battles where the Sassanids could field an Armenian ally against an Armenian army. |
