I am thinking of getting into BP for my colonial games. Can anyone enlighten me on what is actually contained in the Source Books? For instance, how much of the Mahdist Wars book is dedicated to theatre-specific rules for BP itself, how much to general information which would be useful for any set of rules and how much to eye-candy (which usually makes be despondent when compared to my meagre efforts!)? Any assistance will be much appreciated. Alan |

Hi Alan I can wholeheartedly recommend Black Powder for the Anglo Zulu Wars – we have used this ruleset to great effect. Mind you the BP supplement for this period is a little light on extra rules etc and the orders of battle are somewhat confusing. However saying that the ruleset did deliver some great games more here link link link |
