These would fit right in with my current AWI gaming with TSATF.
Certainly they would not be a line regiment.

Besides the Perry figures, what other figures in 28mm would be suitable?
Since they were "uniformed" by the Royal Navy, I'm thinking that black pirates with muskets would work.
Figures in slops with muskets and Negro heads would be ideal.

Also, Old Glory Voodoo Warriors from the Pirate range, with half given muskets.
Which also makes me ask who makes suitable muskets I can use for conversions?

Does Kings Mountain make Negro heads?
I have a pack of black Old Glory line troops I can do head swaps from.

I'm not looking to build an army, just a "colorful" unit for Rebel Bashing.

I am not aware of the Ethiopians being dressed from ship's stores. They were frequently mentioned as being uniformed or in a uniform. You will also find sources that state they were given a British uniform, which, IMO, refers to a special uniform that the British made for the Ethiopians, which is also referred to. I believe they were in some type of frock or simple hunting shirt, as it is frequently mentioned that their uniformed was emblazoned across the front with the words "liberty to Slaves." You can't do that with a standard uniform, but you can do it on a frock or shirt.

John,

Front Rank makes a pack of 8 muskets (EQ-29) with attached bayonet.

Winston – try these:-

Packs Cut3/2, 3/3 and 3/4 will see you sorted. They aren't "military" in the sense of having a uniform, but can represent new recruits just arrived from the fields.

The unit was trained by NCOs from the 14th Foot (complete with buff belts and small clothes), and was also accompanied by Marines and Loyalists, so you can get quite a nice colourful force.
