Hi folks!
I was in the Swedish Army Museum in Stockholm earlier this week and took some photos of various stuff. There are a gun and crew and some Russian infantry of the Finnish-Russo war. Also there is the complete uniform of a Swedish Moerner Hussar there.
IF you check out my flickr you will see more photos of uniforms and stuff from the museum.
I really enjoyed the exhibitions, in particular since they had one on wargaming:)

Cheers all!
Erik

Thanks for posting. The wargame board reminds me of the new Perry's Travel Battle in its general form. Very interesting to see some early Kreigspielers.

I love the "mud" on the wheels of the gun.

Both sides jackets are very dark in color, interesting. Thanks for posting!

Must have been too cool to see in person.

First picture is a great example of "hollow" on a gun carriage, the way the wheels toe in to make the spokes perpendicular to the ground.

It's a great museum! Did you get any pictures in the trophy Room?

Dr Jeckyll18 Mar 2017 3:01 a.m. PST

No, I should have come to think of it..I was very surprised at how faded most of the flags and banners were! Much more so than the ones I saw in Paris army museum.
I must recommend to spend an afternoon at the museum if in Stockholm!

Nice pix--thanks for sharing! The Russian tunic looks like a cavalry ensign's, but I haven't been able to track it down. The fabric and color seem very consistent with other period samples--yep, pretty dark. grin

Nice, theblue is very dark on the Swedish uniforms, almost black.

Dr Jeckyll19 Mar 2017 4:06 a.m. PST

I agree, they were very dark indeed.the photo actually makes them look a little lighter than they really were.
If we stayed true to the actual colors of uniforms, most of the minis would look just the same, almost black yes.

Gunner Dunbar20 Mar 2017 4:20 a.m. PST

Yes, but when/if I get to paint them I would have to lighten the blue a little, or it won't look right.
