Nice update. Do you have a rule set in mind or are you going to make your own?

It's a real shame that the MGS are crap, when they worked they really added to the Stryker company's firepower.

The problem is that they never worked.

@Micman, that post is coming up. Right now, I am looking at Sabre Squadron or 5Core Company Commander. Any other suggestions?

@Lion: I agree. I understand they got so hot inside that the crew needs a special water circulating cooling vest. Maybe something like the Russian 120mm low velocity gun / mortar would have fitted the bill better. Or the Canadian COugar with 76mm.

@Jozis, I liked Sabre Squadron but need to give it a more thorough test. Another one to try would be Fields of Fire by Proving Ground Games. provinggroundgames.com

I have several of 5Core's rule sets, Just can't seem to get excited by them. But I have not looked at Company Commander so I can't say.

Thanks, I think I may have Fields of Fire bought from Wargames Vault. I love 5Core Brigade Commander, Company Commander will work I think, but I will have to fiddle with it. I will need the classify the weapon / armor interactions (easy to do) and fiddle with the activation system, as I think it will break down with 30+ squads plus vehicles the company can field.

I will let you know how I get on, basing stuff right now.

The problem with the MGS was the gun turret, it just couldn't be kept working in the field, even with a team of techs from the factory.

I'm not aware of any issues with the crew overheating (friend of mine was a stryker platoon leader in 25ID during their Astan deployment). After all, the MGS has a remote turret!

@Lion, it is something read a few years ago, that I cannot remember the source, which makes it spurious!

Too bad about the turret, thanks for sharing, you cannot beat first hand knowledge.
